"the Pencil Pro is compatible only with the 2024 iPad Air and iPad Pro tablets. That's a disappointing limitation but not wholly surprising. If you have an iPad Air or iPad Pro from 2022 or earlier, stick with the 2nd-gen or USB-C Pencil." (PCMag)
U sure? It says clearly no to iPad pro m2.
I've just checked still on sale till Oct 13

Beyond the magnetic charging, I am also looking forward to having Find MY on the new one... I lost my last Apple Pencil a few years back and for the life of me could never find it. And I know several friends who have done the same haha. It's been a god-send for my AirPods!
2022 model is M1
Edit: oops you said pro not air

I would say to only get the Pencil if you KNOW you truly have a use case for it like serious drawing/sketching or photo-editing. Typing was/is still significantly easier for me than writing/Scribbling with the Pencil. The weight and girth of the Pencil is pretty noticeable IMO and way less comfortable than a standard #2 pencil or traditional pen.
I had the 2nd gen Pencil for 3 years with my last Pro and I just ended up chucking it into my drawer cause my battery life dropped significantly with it always attached.
Even bought the Paperlike screen protector to make it even more usable and didn't increase my use/like for using the Pencil. The feature I hated the most was not being able to swipe back to home with the Pencil.
Just got the M4 and I'm skipping the Pencil Pro this time around.
Save the $90. My $0.02.
Just trying to see if maybe I'm just ignorant to
something incredible the apple one does.
You need the first gen Apple Pencil with the lighting connector.
Best Buy have the first gen for $79.

Then you are missing out on pen pressure sensitivity. Essentially what you have is equivalent to the Apple Pencil USB-C. The Apple Pencil 1st gen, Apple Pencil 2nd gen, and Apple Pencil Pro all have pressure sensitivity for drawing.
The Apple Pencil USB-C is the over priced equivalent to what you have. The other Apple Pencils are justifiable… maybe not the price, as they are disposable products. I had 2 that the battery went dead and it's pretty much trash. The battery is non-replaceable and it won't work without electricity unlike Wacom style stylus.

2022 iPad Pro 11" is M2 but yet the Pencil Pro with work with it apparently which sucks!
