If you care it's the same price at best buy
Last two Breville's we purchased in the past 2 years died immediately. Quality isn't what it used to be. Purchased a Ninja toaster oven to replace them and it's been incredible in every way.

If you do buy this, start using it IMMEDIATELY so that you can find out if it's faulty within the return window.
This thing is just too big for my counter
I want the regular non pro air fryer model that is almost the exact same size as my BOV800XL but that model doesn't have all the settings like dehydrate and proof.

I wish they would make a joule the size of the BOV800XL at least one that has all the features at the same footprint and height as the non pro air fry model.

My BOV800XL is already too big for the counter and the handle for the door barely hits the edge when I open it.

My first BOV800XL had the spring that holds the door shut break and I suspect it was because the door handle was not resting on the counter when opened.

The next one I got we push it back more and just barely hits.

Do they have a different standard counter size in Australia or something and do their engineers not realize it is 24" for US?

Anything larger than the BOV800XL is just ridiculous.
Too bad you have to get a bigger oven to get features that you should be able to get on the smaller models like dehydrate, proof, and Alexa integration.

And my second BOV800XL is starting to 💩the 🛌 already and I care for it very well.
The controller board has bad soldering and I already opened it up a year ago and reflowed all the solder.
It was intermittently not heating but a reflow of the solder made it better so now it does it a lot less but it still does it ,a light slap to the right side of the oven will almost always get it going again.
But this thing is a major PITA to get into.
I had to buy like 2 foot long special screwdrivers from Harbor Freight and I cut up hands.
Now the convection fan is just about gone too.
Last year it froze up and I smacked the vent inside with a wooden spoon and it started spinning again.
It was working great for a year but now it is not turning again.
I can't even find a replacement fan/motor for it now.
I would try and fix it again if I could find the parts(Breville doesn't sell them) but I dread the thought of removing the screws and getting in there again.
The screws the most inconveniently located screws I have ever seen.
It's a nightmare.

I want the air fry model but I think the fan will fail even sooner because of all the oils and grease flying around.
And I love my BOV800XL and we use it daily and I already know how to fix it so I am reluctant to get another Breville smart oven, at least until they add all the features of this oven or the joule to something the same size as my BOV800XL

keep in mind that these ovens use lead fee solder and the relay boards will have problems with cold solder joints, either that or it is the quic disc connectors that are not making a good connection due to heat and oxidation.
I sanded and cleaned them up last year when I did the reflow.
I can deal with that but the convection fan is not even available for purchase.

I had a price alert setup on this. I am in the market for a new air fryer (non-basket kind). We currently have a Cuisinart that is starting to have issues. I was looking at the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro... but it has a non-stick interior.

What are your thoughts on the Cuisinart Air Fryer Toaster Oven Stainless Steel CTOA-122 or Cuisinart Air Fryer Toaster Oven w/Grill - Stainless Steel - TOA-70?

I'm trying to figure out what to get myself.

I've had 2 Cuisinarts and would not get another Cuisinart. The knob on the first one stopped working, Cuisinart replaced it with a new model, and now that one is getting the same problem. My mother in law has one as well, and it's developing the same problem.

You and me both lol. I've read as long as the food doesn't touch the nonstick surface, it should be ok. Hopefully someone can confirm or refute this. Thanks

Our Cuisinart has lasted 6 years now. The knob has just started acting up though. Looking for a replacement now.

This is worth every penny, it's a non stick interior, also comes with a non stick pan, that you don't have to use. I've had 2 of these, ex got one in split, and never had any issues

Looks like it's the same price at multiple stores indicating it's a sale from Breville itself. Wonder if a new version comes out soon.

I just bought this a couple of weeks ago and have not had a chance to really use it much but it's a beautiful machine. So far I have just used it for toast and French bread pizza and it is fantastic, makes the most beautiful toast ever.

Breville joule is the best, definitely worth it. App makes recipes a breeze and you'll be cooking things you never thought possible

The fuse on these go kaput in a short while. For sooner than expected for a 300 dolla appliance. There is a hack to replace it but it ain't easy as the unit is designed to be exposed. Plus the company is secretive about the coating inside.

TJ MAXX / HOMEGOODS has these for $250. Picked up one earlier this month.

Had a non-air fryer model that was a few yrs old and the convection fan stopped working. Moving it to the lake house.

I've had mine since June or July and I absolutely love it. Cooks very evenly, easy cooking selection. Maybe the only gripe I would have with it is that when you preheat, it immediately starts the cooking timer once it reaches temperature. If you don't have your item to cook in there during the preheat... and if you do, it'll over cook. The upside is that it's really easy to turn the timing knob to reset it to the last thirty second increment. Not really much of a gripe, but I thought I'd throw it out there. I cook a lot of pizza's and I've also found that if I wait until the cooling fan (which is pretty quiet) turns off, my pizza will be cool enough to eat without burning my mouth. haha I haven't been amazed by the air frying like many people are, but I think it does exactly what it's supposed to do. Keep in mind that "air frying" is just a marketing term for convection cooking, you can do it in your full sized convection oven, it just uses more energy and takes longer to heat up and old convection toaster ovens should do the same thing, more or less.
