This is memory on package similar to Apple chips. its soldered part of the chip itself. So not upgradable. Any Lunar Lake ending with 6 will have 16GB memory and anything with 8 will have 32GB memory. There are no other options with Lunar Lake.

If you want upgradable memory, you have to wait for Arrow Lake laptops next Q or any laptop with Strix that has DDR5 instead of LPDDR5x. Thin and light laptops generally have soldered LPDDR memory.
well that entirely depends on whether you want MacOS or Windows. clearly if you want MacOS, then that option is better. and for general purpose computing MacOS?MBA will be fine along with better build quality and longer support. if you need Windows...then for thin/light with long battery life leaves you with Lunar Lake series processors or Qualcomm Snapdragon process; the latter of which has compatibility issues with non-native ARM software
This one has a newer CPU it seems, Lunar Lake. This one's got the 226v while the Costco has the prior generation's 155h.

Yes It is annoying that they just say Ultra 5 and Ultra 7 etc. EDIT: From the model number specs, the CPU is 226V.

RAM type is listed as LPDDR5X so it's probably soldered and not upgradeable.

That can't be right. Asus's own site [asus.com] lists the CPU as being "Intel® Core™ Ultra 5 processor 226V" which is the Lunar Lake generation.

It's listed as the 226V in the processor section of Best Buy's full specs tab.

lunar lake processors all have integrated memory as the memory controller is on the CPU/SOC itself... so memory is not upgrade. not sure about storage though whether that uses a standard M.2 ssd

i'm in the market for a Lunar Lake laptop. been eyeing the HP Omnibook flip as i like touchscreen and the 2-in-1 formfactor better although it only has 2 thunderbolt ports and is still pricey.
any profession reviews on this particular Asus laptop. seems it is a Best Buy exclusive US-only spec. build quality? screen quality?
finally, are there extended returns for non-Total members during holiday return periods? i think Best Buy offered extended holiday returns in the past, but i'n not sure it applied to computers as well

Nope. Ram's soldered in. Intel's CEO has said this is a one-off as they'll be allowing the RAM to be upgraded again with future laptop generations.

Q is why pick this instead of MBA which also comes with 16GB memory. This laptop has bigger SSD but MBA build quality is much better and M series chips are crazy fast.
