Paying 269.00 against a TV that sells in 2024 for 809? Cant see any logic in that. Use a credit card that doubles manufactuer warranty and roll the dice. Or buy another TV. How do yhou think these companies make money? Rarely on the electronics like this. Its on the warrantys. Or try to find a deal like this from Costco. We are early in the holiday season. Deals dont get worse, they get better. Costco has a 90 day return period no hassle as well. You are loking at the old Costco price. If they offer it again (most likely) it should be price competitive to others.
I'm interested in the Frame TV, but I see many prior model owners complaining about TV failures around the ~3-year mark. What is the best way to get extended warranty coverage on this?

- Through Samsung EPP, I can get it for $809.99, and then I could get the 4 years of Samsung Care+ for $269.99, which brings it to a total of $1,080.
- Through Costco (if it comes back in stock - as I'm still seeing it OOS), I can get it for $999.99, with a total of 5 years coverage already included (via a 3 year Allstate protection plan).
- Through Best Buy, I can get it for $899.99, and then I could get the 5 years Geek Squad coverage for $189.99, which brings it to a total of $1,090.
- Through Amazon, I can get it for $897.99, and then I could get the Asurion, LLC 4-year TV protection plan for $111.99, for a total of $1,010.

Any recommendations on which type of extended warranty coverage is the best? I figure not all protection plans are equal.

Yea, spending that much on warranty is not a great move in general. Normally I'd go the CC route as you suggest, but the Samsung Frame TV only comes with a 12 month manufacturer warranty, so doubled only gets me to two years. Most of the problems I'm reading on these TVs happen at the 3-4 year mark.
In turns out that the 2024 model link at Costco is not OOS, and is actually available here for $899.
https://www.costco.com/samsung-55...59692.html

With Costco's 90 day return period and the 5-year total warranty built-in, I think it's a no-brainer now to go with the Costco approach. I figure 5-year coverage for $900 beats 2-year coverage for $810 (via the Samsung EPP approach).

Leaving aside that these are shitty/overpriced TV's to begin with(they're selling the aesthetic, not the technology), the warranty is basically always a rip off.

Using the "chat" trick someone else had, I was able to get this for $809 on my Amex (2 year total warranty) w/ free install and free bezel.

Seems worth the risk vs. Costco's.

I have all diff sizes of frame and every model year for the past 4 years plus a new oled s95c

No failures on any of mine yet but the menus are horrible slow and laggy.
Usually can remedy them with a soft reset but still no ideal

Nice integration with smartthings and looks but thats about it

I wonder if routing the TV through a smart outlet with a restart routine every night can remedy whatever causes the slowdown

Might make it snappier but if you plan to use smarthings this will mess it up

Basically, it's just chat and ask...at least that's what others said. I chatted with the rep and said, "Costco has a 5 year warranty, Walmart has a free bezel, and others have things like free install. Do you offer a free bezel and/or free install?" After about 2 minutes telling me all about the EDU benefits and other things he comes back and says, "If you use the link I'll send you to buy it now, I can give you a free bezel and install." SOLD!

I didn't own one but I've read their failures are due to difficulty getting rid of heat since they're pinned against the wall. I plan to get something to mount mine 1/4" away from the wall to allow a little airflow. Shouldn't ruin the aesthetic too much considering I have mirrors and pictures that aren't perfectly flush to the wall either.

Just look at the marketing pictures. Where is the box? Where is a cable that goes to that box? Did they hide it between the wall studs?

Also, art you see needs a monthly subscription. Do not forget about sh*y samsung software that will drive you nuts.

You got a good deal! Bezel or bust, since that's a $135-250 add-on that makes the aesthetic these TVs were meant to fill.

A good deal on a Frame TV should meet this criteria at a minimum:
  • matches lowest price in 6 months
  • bezel included
  • slim mount included

or
  • matches lowest price in 6 months
  • included services + add-ons match at least the value of bezel and slim mount
