Says you can redeem for statement credits which what I usually do with my thank you points
You could probably get more than 1:1 if you go other ways but usually easier for me to apply as credit
My auto and home insurance is due in April and that would help reaching the $4k

Yes, you can product change. I was able to change my old Citi Premier to a Citi Costco card.
