Ads auto opening again

IOS 17.3

On the mobile app, when scrolling/swiping over an ad — NOT clicking — the ad will launch a browser window for the site. This was an issue in the past and I resolved it by deleting the Slickdeals app. Now I just consciously don't swipe over ads but seriously?

Has anyone else noticed the ads in iOS getting clicked automatically recently? I thought I was just accidentally tapping them but I never did it before and it just happened to me again except the website I was taken to was for an ad farther down the page! In that case it would have been impossible to tap it. Not sure if it's a bug or just something on my phone.

Happens with the solitaire game ad every time. It's obviously a built-in action and quite annoying like a pop up ad. I don't know if y'all are genuine about taking care of it but here's my official complaint if that helps.

Thank you. We don't allow pop up ads and the ad team does take these reports seriously, but unfortunately it can sometimes be hard to track down and remove them.
I did send your report over to the ad team so that they can try to track this one down. If you see this ad again, screenshots and/or click-through links can help the team find the offending ad quicker. If you'd like to share either of those, you can share them here or email them into [email protected]

This issue just happened to me. I was scrolling on a deal thread and a solitaire app ad opened up (appearance was the Solitaire game listing on the Apple App Store). I did not click on any ads or banners. iPhone 13 mini running iOS 17.4.1.

Same here. It's the solitaire ad. I have a feeling slickdeals is getting ad money from them that's why it hasn't been fixed.

Solitaire, angry birds and others now. Doesn't happen on Android. Just to clarify, I can see the ads as I scroll so they are visible and I know what they are and aren't being blocked. I don't need them to automatically open as I scroll past and I am NOT going to relearn how to scroll just to browse this app. Literally THE ONLY APP that auto launches the App Store when scrolling past ads. Yes it's an intentional function and yes it's annoying as all get out. Deleting the app again. Thanks.

It happens with all of the ads. It's not any specific ad they just all automatically open.

Just happened again on an angry birds ad. I was at a point on the screen where no ads were showing if that helps any.
