Another (cheaper) option at Lenovo is $959 with pickup at BestBuy:
https://www.lenovo.com/us/vipmemb...83hm0000us

So far, the Beneplace store is open to everyone.

As I've said before, this is a great laptop at this price. Personally, I'd get an open box [bestbuy.com] for much cheaper at BestBuy but I know not everyone is happy with open box product.

The one at best buy has Windows 11 Home while this has 11 Pro.

True, but cheaper for those that don't need Pro (or who have an old Win 10 Pro key to upgrade to 11 Pro with).

It would be nice -- it's time to see the 258V getting some deals. There's literally no difference between 256V and 258V other than RAM.

No difference, except for the system OS.

Between Home and Pro? Found this searching Google:

Windows 11 Home is designed for consumers, while Windows 11 Pro is designed for businesses and professionals. The main differences between the two editions are:
RAM and CPU: Windows 11 Pro supports up to two CPUs with 128 cores and two terabytes of RAM, while Windows 11 Home supports up to one CPU with 64 cores and 128 gigabytes of RAM.
Security: Windows 11 Pro has more robust security features, including BitLocker drive encryption and Windows Information Protection.
Device management: Windows 11 Pro includes features like Group Policy Editor, which lets IT admins configure policies for groups of devices.
Virtualization: Windows 11 Pro supports virtualization software.
Remote control: Windows 11 Pro includes remote control capabilities.

If they had 32gb version for, say, a $100 premium, I would have already purchased this laptop.

The 32GB RAM version is only a $100 premium when you custom build. The problem is, the custom build, despite being the same hardware, starts at a much higher price than this deal.

I would say it's going to be perfect for your use case
No need to go for 32GB. This is going to be on top seller laptop in 2025.

I have the 32GB RAM version of this laptop and love it. Super quick, excellent screen and speakers, great battery life, nice keyboard, and has a USB A port as well as a full size HDMI port. Checked all the boxes for me.
