You're both wrong, which rightfully warrants thumbs down for misinformation.

The base clock speed for this RAM is 5600. It's just underclocked in the BIOS.

Now, you can question why Lenovo did this, as would I, but that doesn't change the fact that you didn't do your research before commenting.

As for the claim that prebuilts are somehow less stable... not sure where you got that from, but maybe watch less Linus Tech Tips. The guy and his channel are clowns.
I bought this on Cyber Monday. This machine comes with 5600MHz RAM, it's just downclocked to 4400 by default in the bios for some reason, easily fixed.
The Intel spec sheet for the 14th gen recommends up to 5600Mhz for DDR5 and 3200Mhz for DDR4.

Do you honestly think you know better than the company that designed the processor and a company that's adhering to spec?

And why are they stress testing anything (hint, they don't, that's not part of the process) when the RAM is in spec?

If anything, using faster memory than what's recommended is what's going to get you all these imaginary "blue screens" you keep mentioning.

Why stop at "cheap" parts like DDR5-6000 when DDR5-10600 exists?

You claim not to watch Linus, but you sure parrot a lot of their rhetoric.

If you have a costco credit card, the costco deal makes more sense.

Not really. I have the card, but it no longer has the perks it used to.

Can try stacking other coupons for another $50-$100 off, worked for me in the last deal a few weeks back. And CB portals have a good yield on Lenovo.

They are speaking of AMEX or Chase, and $ back websites that can't be mentioned per forum rules.

AMEX and Chase sometimes have offers available in their "offers" or "Shop" sections that you can activate and give a statement credit, etc.

From what I've read (have been following PCs with 4070 SUPER Ti and 4080 SUPER cards for months now) the Costco added value here is mostly the warranty and ease of customer service for warranty and returns.

Mixed reviews proving inconclusive on:
AMD vs Intel 13th/14th gen
Motherboards
Power supply

The mixed reviews are mostly people debating about the quality of parts like the motherboard, the overall capacity of the power supply (most end up pointing out that every available prebuilt comes with enough according to specs), and the hot topic of the Intel chip flaws (people have pointed out there is a prescribed "fix" that is easily implementable through a BIOS update).

Price-wise all of the 4080 SUPER deals that have popped up are either at this price or marginally lower if a refurbished. Best refurbished that I spied was $100 cheaper or so with 64gb Ram instead of 32gb (was on woot.com).

I applied a coupon from site banner (advertised $50 off $1500, $100 off $2000+) and that worked for me stacked with the promo a few weeks ago. YMMV.

No, I was saying both. There's an additional code in Lenovo site banner which stacked for me.

No, it's just not operating at higher speeds by default. Adjustable in the BIOS.
