I had this saw and sold it off after using for some time. Its very jerky at start and almost feels unsafe.
Hard pass. Shopmaster tool quality control is terrible. It won't be square, stay square or be safe as it should be. I'd rather pay for Ryobi at this price point.
I got it for $79 couple of years ago (it even came with stand as well for the price). OK for price, but if you want accurate work, then don't get this one. It is VERY hard to dial in/adjust for square and it drifts off.

The detents at 90/60/45 are VERY light "click".

Seems like a solid deal for a sliding miter saw. It's not dual bevel but for under $100 I think it's a good deal

Yeah it's a fantastic price. Who knows how long it will last but it's a delta so should be decent and plenty for most weekend warriors like myself.

You got a link for this supposed Ryobi sliding miter saw for $99?

I also nabbed that deal! It's plenty good enough for most jobs. Yes, it's hard to square. Use a square to square it. Don't trust the clicks. Also, add this cheap upgrade:bHitachi 371468 Soft Start C10Rj Part https://a.co/d/8qX84Bn

Yeah I'm not expecting much for $99 but it's also $99 for a sliding miter saw I can make sure to use a square for this price. Where do you wire the soft start? Did you splice it into the power cord?

I have a delta also, not sure if same model as this. I agree it's not 100% accurate, but accurate enough that I built 6 wall shelves in my garage covering 3 walls and they are holding up very well.

..."it drifts off.." now that's what you want in a saw...
