Is it? It feels like the bottle-neck for this would be the 1080p display they have paired with a 4060 card.....
You're tripping. You don't need 1440p in a 15" display. That's the standard resolution for 24-27" gaming monitors.

Mail rebates are complicated time-consuming processes that rip you off. I have filed many rebates and I have never received a single dime back. If the rebate isn't applied at the time of sale then it's a lie.

You're quite right. This is even higher PPI than 4k @ 32 inches. Alas, there's always a resolution troll on these laptop threads.

The bottleneck is the 4060. Even a full power (140 watt) 4060 is designed to handle modern games at 1080p, it struggles at 1440p. And in this laptop MSI limited the GPU to 45 watts, so it's slower than a 4050.

Avoid low end MSI laptops; they're cheap for a reason. It's all the specs they don't mention that you need to read up on.

The screen brightness is 249 nits with a color gamut of just 56% sRGB. This is quite possibly the worst screen included in any modern gaming laptop.

Secondly, this 4060 GPU is limited to just 45 watts, so it performs worse than a 4050.

And finally, low end MSI laptops have terrible construction quality. Customers are currently suing MSI over the terrible hinges they use which break after about a year.

This is not worth $700. You'd be much better off with just about any other brand.

i've literally done hundreds, back in the day when rebates were common place to get any type of deal... never had a single issue, always got my money back. last time i checked my logs, i was well over 3Gs in rebates over the years.

MIRs are far for complicated and hardly time-consuming... if you think they are, that's sad, you live an easy life my friend.
the problem is you... do better nod

i always urge folks to go get their hands on one in the store... you'll quickly figure out why they're so inexpensive with seemingly "good specs" vomit

I really hate mail in rebates, been screwed over on a few of them. The ones that do go through usually take forever. Solid deal for anyone that gets the rebate back.
