Sadly, there are better deals out there on new gear than what they try to sell used gear for.

As an REI green vest, go support other businesses. There's a reason that there are unionisation efforts and REI is trying to bust them.

For this to be a deal you should be able to view the actual item you are buying. Tried it once, shame on me for thinking I would receive an item that was "like new". Used and abused.

I've had mixed success with REI used website. Some orders are flawless. One time I got a totally different shoe brand & size than what I ordered. For another order, I got the product as described but it fit slightly smaller than another one I own. Wasn't worth it to ship the items back. I would only buy items under $50 so I'm not out too much if it doesn't work out.

Dang, this replaced the annual garage sale?

I still have never heard a good explanation why extra small and XXXL are always the sizes on sale. Sure, most people are around a medium size, but it's not like companies didn't know to make more medium sizes than extra small. I'd rather err on the side of producing too much for the average person than too much for extreme sizes.

Fortunately, I live near a Resupply store. I've found some good to great deals there. But you absolutely need to examine the products in person. Some items are great, some aren't as great but depending on the pricing may be worthwhile, and some are thrashed. Some items are in good shape but not discounted enough to be a good deal.

Last time I actually saw prices go +20% just before the -20% coupon drop. REI deals are history--soon the company!
All those TDs must be the blue hairs at Seattle HQ. Go climb Rainier.

Uh. That just shows it's working as intended? They sell out all the S-L so they don't have to fire sale those items and lose money.

Is it normal to get two identical pending credit card charges back to back for Re/Supply purchases? I bought some shoes and I got two separate notifications from Discover for two separate transactions, both the same amount (one for "REI RESUPPL" and the other for "ALLBIRDSRR")

Lately, I have the same double notifications on my Discover card, for REI, Uber, and a couple of other merchants. Best to check for actual transactions on your card in the Discover app or on their web site. It's the end of 2024 - time to check the nifty year end Spend Analysis on their website any how !

You can find some great deals. I love ordering from the resupply as you have 30 days to return an item if it doesn't work out for you.

They are phenomenal deals which I could never afford otherwise. I picked up the Exped Megamat LXW for a crazy discount. It was in excellent condition, absolutely nothing wrong. The repair kit was unfortunately missing, but they went above and beyond and gave me 15% back on my cc. I couldn't believe it. Where else can you get customer service like that?
