If you have to get an Arkham game on the Switch, then the Arkham City port is the most polished out of the three. Asylum is pretty decent too, minus the occasional frame dip. These versions also use the original PS3/XBox 360 releases, rather than the "Return to Arkham" remasters with altered lighting and texture details.
Arkham Knight is too risky, even after a few patches, due to the game's instability whenever the Batmobile is speeding around (which is a core aspect of this entry). The downgraded visuals probably won't be everyone's cup of tea, since this game released during the PS4/XBox One era by comparison.
All three games have their respective DLCs included, and the Wii U exclusive Armored Suits for City.

When purchasing the Physical, how many of the games are actually physical and how many are digital?

Asylum is the only physical game in the cart. City and Knight are downloads, but still need the game cart to show up as individual titles in the Switch menu.

I imagine when the Switch 2 releases in a few months, these Batman games will play very well on that hardware. I'm hesitant to play these on the original Switch though.

Arkham Knight is the best superhero video game ever created, don't play it on switch, have a full experience, get a PC and play it at 4K@60FPS. Unless you're planning to wait for switch 2.

This. The Nintendo tax is at it again. If you have any low-moderate end gaming PC you are better off getting the PC version. It looks and plays a million times better than the Switch version. The PC Arkham Collection is currently $4.19 on CDKeys.

But…if you feel the need to spend more than double the amount on only one of the games and on a worse version, or if the Switch is the only way you can play it, then more power to you.

On Xbox the trilogy was $6 for everything. Definitely the Nintendo tax. Having all the gaming systems, I play the switch the least and only for games I can't get elsewhere.

100% agree.. I always did Nintendo vs Xbox/PlayStation growing up, but the Switch has been a bit of a disappointment. The best part is the portability. Outside the exclusive games, I'm not finding much. Tons of overpriced ports or very random independent games. Even with the exclusive games.. Mario kart is a port from the Wii U, super smash Bros doesn't change much each generation, and I know this is a hot take, but I didn't like Breath of the Wild much. It just really seems like Nintendo leveraged their brand too much this go-around and didn't provide much value to their customers.

Without any confirmation, this is just speculation and a dash of hope, though.

I'd wait, to find out more before buying. Digital sales will happen again.

I second that. Or use a Steam Deck if you want that portable experience. Arkham City runs at a smooth 60fps
