What saved this show was the Excellent writers and scripts. The special effects are terrible but because the stories are so good the effects can be overlooked. If you have the DVD set listen to the audio commentary. The actors who played Will and Holly trashed the show. That was a shame
Thanks for the info. I am always nostalgic for the show but figured it would be horrible and unwatchable (at least for more than an episode or two). Glad to hear that he writing is actually good.

Too bad the actors trashed it. I've never understood that, it's what made you why are you trashing it? Even if you hate it just keep quiet about it.

There's a few other Krofft shows available on sale. Lidsville $9.99. The Kroft Super Show and Sigmund and the Sea Monsters both $14.99. A Krofft show I'd really like to see on sale some day is DC Follies.

I thought I remembered this, but turns out I only ever knew of the 90s remake that aired reruns on Nickelodeon.

It was the highest rated thing either of those actors ever did. In fact, the Holly girl never worked again as an actor outside of that show (other than 1 show episode around the same time).

The "Will" actor was in just a few terrible things.

Seems like this show was literally the pinnacle of their career.

As a kid, I had a weird obsession with the jeweled control panel. I really wanted those jewels bad.

I mean I watched this show in..."real time". I didn't think it was TERRIBLE special effects (I am talking the dinosaurs now), it was on par with the old Sinbad movies if you remember those. No? Maybe it's just me??? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thank for listing Lidsville. That has been oop for a while. The DVDs are going for $100+ on ebay. And someone was trying to sell phony blu rays of it as well. Glad I waited. I snatched it up! Replaces very old VHS tapes I made years ago.

I hope others consider these shows were from the late 60s and early 70s. TV Saturday mornings with micro-budgets. They were for kids. And we loved em!! Best time of my life.

I'm late 50s. And these things take me back.
