You can drink the coffee 8 hours later and it is still hot.
It is amazing. I don't like the lid and the occasional spill so I don't use them anymore.
How do you keep the inside clean? Mine is stained from coffee inside and I can't get it clean. No matter what I use or how long I soak the coffee stain is still there. I even put it in the dishwasher out of desperation and it still is stained to the point I quit using it.

I do 3 things.
1) My wife throws in some Clorox and lets it soak for 30 minutes. It will get rid of everything, but it smells for a little bit.
2) Buy some citric acid. They sell bags on Amazon. Scoop 2 table spoons, pour hot water, and let it sit for a couple hours. It works ok.
3) Buy a new cup. Unfortunately this is what I end up doing every other year.

Put in a little dishwasher powder and then fill with hot water and let soak for a few hours. Then take a bottle brush and scrub the inside. Looks like new when done.
They are great. It is my go to travel bottle. But just FYI, the cap is plastic. I dropped it and it is missing a big piece. But it still works, no leak. I just ordered another 16oz. It was $20

I've had one of these for quite a few years. It's great at keeping beverages hot, for example, I have had hot coco in one and forget it for 8 hours-10 hours and find it when I am returning home for the day. It's still nearly as hot as it was when it was made and now it's more like pudding (in taste) because it's cooked the milk all day. The lid leaves something to be desired though and I have frequently had issues with it leaking, not usually when it's closed but when you go to drink out of it, it will leak out everywhere.
Personally, I am now looking for a glass lined thermo to stop having metal taste in my drinks.

The official Zojirushi customer-support guidance is hand wash only. But I stick mine in the dishwasher almost every day, and never had any problems (apart from the exterior paint peeling as mentioned in another comment).
Like this for tea, not for water. The opening is just not big enough to get a good "gulp" of water when you want one. That said, very nice, easy to clean although I do find myself cleaning the lid way more than other ones.

Get the version with metal in the interior where they fill in the pores with more metal, making essentially a non-stick surface. I've accidentally left coffee with milk in there for days, and it all just rinsed out in the sink (obviously I cleaned it more seriously with soap and a brush, but that coating is just magical)

Get the Stainless one since you'll end up with that anyway.

Not able to find this info on the listing page...anywhere else I can corroborate this?

Nonstick Interior
Easy-to-clean nonstick coated interior resists odor and stain
Throw a dishwasher pod in the cup and soak with boiling water for about 10 minutes. Like magic, it's new again. See this video. https://youtu.be/BMwRCZUQNfk?si=

Isn't this essentially a thermos?
