An impedance that dips into the 2's will make many amps sweat and you probably could hear it putter out a bit if you're already pushing things.

Curious on why that matters?

Explanation: When delivering deep bass, the resistance in the speakers drop and require a burst of power from AMPs. It's not to say your run of the mill receivers won't do the job, it just means the better the amp, the more you get out of this speaker.

You mean amp? Yes. An amp that can handle 4ohm can handle 6 or 8. Higher ohmage requires less power from amp. Lower ohm speakers require more power.
Read this and search for 3.5

Impedance varies based on frequency it is not a single value it is a complex curve. It's important to know how low it dips as well as how wide those dips are.
Well you know the M16s are on sale for $349 each! 😜

These aren't very efficient so more clean solid power is needed for optimal performance.
This is a dangerous layman's explanation. It isn't completely misleading but I'd phrase it as "sensitivity is the measure of how efficient the speaker is," and impedance is "how hard the amp sweats when it's pushing the speakers hardest" (ie playing low bass parts).

The audio science review says dips to 3.5. Which actually isn't too bad. My BR08 drop to 2.5 so had to get a Kenwood M2A to take care of the dips. Recently upgraded to a parasound 2205a cos my center channel was not in sync .
A dip to 3.5 is nothing. Countless speakers rates to 8 ohms will dip to 3ish ohms, including those Klipsch 600s. I think it's nothing to worry about unless people have junk gear.
