Welding on these is not great and some sharp points on the metal, which is an issue for safety but also since you are directly putting a bed on it so it can tear up the bed.

I have a variation of this 16" frame which I paid another $10 for on Amazon. Assembly is fairly simple and the support is solid. I use the box spring with my matress; enjoy the height and storage room is awesome.

Pad the corners and legs at base, your toes will thank you. Wish mine had a headboard.

Agree with this for the middle supports, the corners you are used to avoiding, but I think it's the middle ones that get you. I use pool noddles.
