To help with any confusion here's a link https://hueblog.com/2021/01/29/th...emarkable/. All of them have tape to attach to the wall. This V2 have magnets in the controller itself rather than the part you tape to the wall. Makes it so you can attach the remote to your refrigerator or anything else Ferrous

This is what I do. I have the remote on my fridge (which is next to the back door) and the power/dim buttons control the lights over my sink/counter while the hue (scene) button controls my deck lights.

Disagree. The lighting in my house is fully automated and controlled via both voice or app, BUT it's still inconvenient to grab my phone or use my watch to control a bedside lamp or to use my voice to control the lamp while my wife is sleeping. I have one of these to allow easy lamp control on either side of the bed to control our individual lamps. It's very convenient and keeps my wife from controlling the lamp via the physical switch which obviously disconnects the bulb from the network.
cover up your switch with a lutron aurora

You misunderstood. This isn't a physical wall switch next to the bed I'm referring to but instead the physical switch directly on the lamp that my wife used to mess with. That being said the whole caseta family including that one have been the most reliable devices in my setup for close to ten years now.

If you don't want a voice assistant because of privacy concerns, these are massively helpful if your device isn't with you or you have someone staying with you who isn't familiar with Hue. The programmable buttons make it easy to set scenes and turn on/off lights across your entire place. For example, at the end of the day I long-press the power button to turn off all lights which is great if something was left on.

What's the other version? This is the only one I know
Magnet behind the plate. If I can choose which one to pick, I prefer the old version.
But I got one that has tape on the plate but magnet on the remote. Is this the one ?

Yes, it's wireless. You can use it to control your hue lights and apparently any other smart home automation you choose.
