What's the other version? This is the only one I know
Magnet behind the plate. If I can choose which one to pick, I prefer the old version.
But I got one that has tape on the plate but magnet on the remote. Is this the one ?

Yes, it's wireless. You can use it to control your hue lights and apparently any other smart home automation you choose.

This is what I do. I have the remote on my fridge (which is next to the back door) and the power/dim buttons control the lights over my sink/counter while the hue (scene) button controls my deck lights.
cover up your switch with a lutron aurora
You misunderstood. This isn't a physical wall switch next to the bed I'm referring to but instead the physical switch directly on the lamp that my wife used to mess with. That being said the whole caseta family including that one have been the most reliable devices in my setup for close to ten years now.
