I've been reading the Discworld series chronologically over the last year or so and just finished The Wee Free Men (#30 of 41), which is the first book of this series. It was a good book, and I like the idea of exploring Tiffany's discovery and exploration of being a witch. I'm curious how they use Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg in the three other books.
And you just can't go wrong with Discworld. I've enjoyed some books more than others (the Death series has been my favorite), but all of them are worth far more than $1 apiece.

I started reading Discworld books when there were only two - The Color of Magic and The Light Fantastic. Been reading them as they came out ever since. I can't bring myself to read the last four or five that Pratchett wrote, though. Once I read them, that's it - no new Pratchett for me. Ever. That's a depressing thought.

Having read all the Discworld books I believe it is fine to start with this mini series.

I second what the other said, The Wee Free Men was actually my introduction to Discworld and I did not feel lost at all.
