I bought this for a Christmas present when it was $80.
Honestly, she has not used it once.
There's no need for something like this in CA.
If you like hot beverages there is a use for it anywhere. It ensures that my last drink of tea/coffee/hot chocolate is the same temperature as my first drink. I love my ember!

Well said bud these things are fun, I gotta get mine back out again
I am generally happy with this, just two things I don't like - it is heavy enough for me to qualify carrying it around as an exercise; and there's no schedule feature. Otherwise it just works.
If you enjoy hot drinks like tea, I would still recommend it.
