Used to be my favorite, hate that they changed how they all taste last year. Was the best sugar free low cal drink on the market. Now it tastes like Gatorade.

I like the new formula (glad to reduce erythritol) and they taste the same to me. Cherry is probalby 2nd fav with clementine being first.

1. Erythritol
Erythritol is a sugar alcohol used as a low-calorie sweetener. It is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA, but excessive consumption can cause digestive discomfort, including bloating or diarrhea, especially in sensitive individuals134.
2. Stevia Leaf Extract
Stevia is a natural sweetener derived from the Stevia rebaudiana plant. While it is considered safe, some people report a bitter aftertaste or mild gastrointestinal issues when consuming products containing stevia34.
3. Malic Acid
Malic acid is added to enhance tartness and flavor. However, lawsuits have alleged that some versions of malic acid used in Bai drinks are synthetically produced from petrochemicals rather than naturally derived, raising concerns about misleading labeling and the use of artificial additives810.
4. Natural Flavors
The term "natural flavors" can encompass a wide range of substances derived from natural sources but processed chemically. While these are not inherently harmful, their exact composition is often undisclosed, which may be a concern for consumers seeking transparency23.
5. Coffeefruit Extract
Coffeefruit extract provides antioxidants and natural caffeine (about 78 mg per bottle). While beneficial in moderation, caffeine can cause side effects like jitteriness, increased heart rate, and sleep disturbances in sensitive individuals or when consumed in excess15.
6. Citric Acid
Citric acid acts as a preservative and flavor enhancer. Although it is commonly used in food products, excessive intake has been linked to enamel erosion in teeth and potential irritation for those with acid sensitivity2.
7. Vegetable Juice Concentrates (for Color)
These are used for natural coloring but are generally considered safe. However, they may contain trace amounts of pesticides depending on sourcing.
8. Sodium Citrate
Sodium citrate is used to regulate acidity but poses minimal risk unless consumed in extremely high quantities.

FWIW...our local Dillons (Kroger) has all flavors on sale for $1 a bottle. They have this price every few weeks.

I've been to Zambia, and I don't remember anyone mentioning cherries being a big thing there.

Formula was changed about 1 year ago. No longer has Erythritol. They are using Monkfruit instead. Also, you missed White Tea Extract.

Naming convention is to pay homage to coffee growing regions since it has coffeefruit in it.

Same! Why not just create a different drink or flavor. I stopped drinking their now awful taste drinks and switched to Treo.

I'll look into Treo. We stopped drinking Bia too. I actually returned 3 cases to Costco that I purchased before realizing they changed the ingredients.

I used to buy the variety package of these when I got a coupon from BJ's. Recently, even mixing only 1/3 of a bottle of the blueberry with filtered water turned my stomach. The taste wasn't terrible - it just had to be the new ingredients. I now only buy the coconut assortment and still only use a 1/3 bottle. I do enjoy the taste of these and have not had the stomach turning effect that I felt with the blueberry so I don't know what did it in that flavor.

I too will look into Treo. Thank you! I was wondering if I was the only one for whom Bai (Clementine and Watermelon in particular) went from my absolute FAVORITE drink (I drank it not just for the low calories and antioxidants but because it was DELICIOUS) to undrinkable.

I find the Zambia and a couple of the odder flavors the ONLY ones drinkable now. And you look at my Amazon and you see I ordered HUNDREDS of cases before the change. Man if I were them I would have taken my calorie or content licks for whatever lies it had foisted on us and changed the LABEL instead of changing the FORMULA. BTW for what it's worth my new obsession is Sanpellegrino Zero Grams Added Sugar. 20 calories for a small can of a DELICIOUS beverage. There is a zero CALORIE version but the taste is lightly flavored sparking water rather than an actually delicious DRINK.
