Same. I think our office has gone through like 5/7 failure on these. It's always the same problem, the scroll wheel bouncing around. I am only in this thread because we literally just threw one in the trash 10 minutes ago so this deal caught my attention.
It kind of boggles my mind how a product can be this bad.
We have a bunch of other (Redragon) cheapo Amazon ones and none of those have any issues.
Since 2014 or so their quality went down to the level of Dollar stores - most probably due to outsourcing of their manufacturing to the bottom bidders in SE Asia.
But young people are gullible, tribal, mentally lazy and Razer's hype does not want to die.

Since 2014 or so their quality went down to the level of Dollar stores - most probably due to outsourcing of their manufacturing to the bottom bidders in SE Asia. But young people are gullible, tribal, mentally lazy and Razer's hype does not want to die.
I actually think the cheap outsourcing is the minor problem. The major problem is from the avaricious owners/managers of corporations who want customers who constantly "need" to buy new stuff. If a corporation made a mouse that lasted for at least 10 years, then the corporation's profit rate would decline a lot. On the other hand, if the corporation made a mouse that lasted for ~2 years, then the corporation's profit rate would increase a lot.
Another problem is that today's people use computers a lot more than yesterday. During the 1990s to early 2000s, I probably used a computer around 2 to 4 hours per day. Now I use a computer for 10+ hours per day.
Thus I now buy computer mice with at least decent performance & around $20 to $25 (that's the final price after discounts). Over the past few decades, I've tried Microsoft, Logitech, Razer, Roccat, & other brands (including no-name brands from China). They all have similar durability regardless of price tag from $20 to $50.
I got the Razer Deathadder Elite Wired in December 2019, im still using it 6 years straight, no complaints, still rocking, that's a solid device, I paid $27 for it im looking the receipt right now I still have it, I guess might be just luck but Razer seems solid

I think 2 years from a $16 mouse is pretty good.

I have an HP Omen gaming mouse (rebranded SteelSeries) that has lasted for nine years with no issues. it too was $16 on clearance.
