You can't download new hardware capabilities in an OS update. What do you expect them to do? There's a lot to criticize Apple for. Older phones lacking the necessary hardware to run an AI system locally isn't one of them.
Do we have an actual release date for this yet? I've seen only rumors based on previous SE releases
