The Samsung 990 EVO Plus 4TB SSD has now dropped to an impressive price tag, with a massive discount of 28 percent at Amazon. This makes it one of the best options for consumers looking for a reliable and high-performing storage device. Well, Samsung storage drives are some of the harder ones to get at decent discounts, and it seems like the 990 EVO Plus 4TB SSD might be an impressive deal, which we haven't seen in a while.

I feel like the 4TB 990 Pro was available direct from Samsung for around this price in December, using the Samsung perks membership thing. I'm still in the market but I'm not sure why the EVO (no DRAM) is coming in at this price and not lower?

For what it's worth, I bought this a month or so ago and did not like the speeds in general. Returned and bought the T500 instead, happy with my decision.

it was, and has been in that price range pretty often in the last few months. samsung stock tanked pretty hard since they are so far behind on AI development and other issues. I'd pass at this price, you can get the pro which is so much better for the same price or better if not in a hurry.

after all the sales with s21,s23, earbuds, etc lately I expect more sales in the next months. they already are doing pre sale discounts with email sign up. never seen samsung this agressive with sales.

Yes. I ordered this and returned it and bought the 850 instead after further research.

Oh they've been more aggressive in years past. Nothing like it was 2023 and before

I ended up getting that pro model for 167... can't beat that deal unless it was free. I'm torn between putting it in my ps5 or new pc build.

If you're a gamer primarily and you want a four terabyte, go with WD SN850, you can find one for less than this price I just got one for $230 brand new unopened on eBay seller had a few of them. I've had unspeakably terrible experiences with Samsung, WD is a far better company with far more dependable products in my experience. The SN770 and the SN 850 have the fastest game load speeds if that's what you're after

That is true, but the reason a lot of folks get the Samsung is because it's single sided for gaming laptops.

Starting to think all ssd NAS might be worth it soon. I don't need that much storage and the ssds might end up being cheaper long term if they last longer than 5 yrs where HDDs usually die.

The pro 990 has higher sustained writes... windows updates in particular seem to get bigger each year... faster ssd tears through them at a faster clip

The major memory producers seem to be better matching supply with demand, so this might well be as low as SSD prices go for a while. Just last week Samsung, SK hynix and Micron said they'd be cutting NAND production (again) due to low demand

4TB SN850X is double sided drive doesn't fit in most laptops and most aftermarket heatsinks don't fit properly. 4TB 990 EVO Plus and PRO is single sided drive.
