Pretty similar TVs, two differences being the:
1) HDR brightness (7.6 vs 8.8). Not a big deal if your room is dark.
2) Lighting transitions (7.0 vs 8.0). This is due to the QM7 having a lot more dimming zones. Fast moving content doesn't look as smooth, like sports.
At the same price, I might take the 10 extra inches and less dimming zones.
Hmmm now you really have me reconsidering, haha but damnit I asked for that! I do watch 150+ baseball regular season games and then all the playoffs on my TV, so maybe the good fast moving sports content is worth it. But then counterpoint: not a ton of consistent fast moving action in baseball LOL

Can read everything about it here

https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...q750g-qled

Not sure how accurate the data on rtings is, but the idea that it might only have 200 dimming zones on 85" would be a huge problem (although this price is still pretty great for a 7 series).

But yeah I expect around 1000 dimming zones on a 65" these days (& at least 1,500 on 85"). 200 is going to be a problem on a massive screen like this, can't recommend that.

You can trust Rtings. They are the new Consumer Reports with vigorous testing for electronics. Very thorough.

I'm currently seeing $999.99 for the 85"... Ships from & Sold by Amazon. It's been back and forth between $1027.99 and $999.99 all day, but always S & S by Amazon... just as the thread description states.

Must be region based cause it's def not for me.

Tbh, I have a TCL with 128 zones, similar to this one, and the lighting transitions might be my biggest gripe. That, and it's rather heavy. Otherwise I love it.

Is this a decent tv option for a loft in a shop? Bigger would be better. Would do some casual gaming out there too (Wii, Xbox)
I live in a loft and regret getting a 75 inch LG two years ago. i would go with 100 if i was you.

they were selling a 100 inch at costco the other day.

I have a vizio p65-f1 and rtings gave it amazing reviews. Better than any of the modern tv's get.

Are the reviews subjective to the years or is a 6 year old tv better than what is out there now?

Honestly that's a very good question as I'm sure they update their testing methodologies which might skew some of the numbers.

I'll just put my normal disclaimer in here though: Rtings is a great resource for what it is, but nothing beats an actual eye test if you have the means and ability to see one of these tv's in person.

the reviews are subjective to the methodology used to review the tv. Yours was reviewed against version 1.6 and this tv against 1.11. Per their site "Each update tries to encapsulate technological advances/changes that break our current tests, or the introduction of new methodologies that result in more accurate/consistent measurements."

I have a QM7 75" arriving tomorrow for this same $1k price - can someone talk me out of the QM7 and in to this for the extra size? I will be gaming with a high-end PC... but this one is also 120/144hz and has local dimming, what is the real world difference I could expect? TIA to anyone!

I'm in a similar situation (granted with neither tv) and have a 75" Sony x93l arriving Monday and the 85" Hisense U7 for the same price is tempting me.

Seems like a sweet deal for the 75" at $699. Does anyone know if there are any concerns over being a 2023 model?? As in were there any issues that are addressed with a newer model?

I recently purchased the latest model of the TCL QM7. My only complaint is its integration with external soundbars and streaming devices. Although they work, the connection isn't very advanced or fast. For instance, when connecting an Apple TV, it takes about five to ten seconds to load the Apple TV home page. If you plan to use these features frequently, I recommend investing more in other premium devices.

Thanks for the feedback. I usually will use an external media player over the TV OS. Either Nvidia Shield or CCwGTV.

10" panel size difference is massive. Let's put it this way, I returned an 65" LG C4 OLED for a 75" TCL 646. Did the OLED have a better picture? Yes of course it did but the 75 has a much more dramatic impact on movie night.
