This looks actually more interesting than the Samsung G8 85SB, or what do you think? The LG definitely has better connectivity options, the curve is bigger than the Samsung too.

It is good monitor if you don't mind the 800R curve. This uses newer tech too since all QD OLED 34"s are still lagging behind with gen 1 panel. Would like to see better price though

Wish it wasn't 800R. $799 seems to be the average price, no? It's been that at my local Best Buy for weeks now, since I started looking

Is this worth the price? I'm in the market for a new monitor. I was also looking at the samsung G85sd and the MSI 341

Currently have the LG 34gp83a and love it for office work.

I also have a ps5 pro and a pc with rx7900xtx

For anyone interested in a larger screen (lower dpi) with comparable specs: the Asus ROG Swift 39" curved OLED is $850 at Newegg (with coupon). The Asus model also has a built-in KVM for laptop/PC and 90W USB-C (LG model is 65W USB-C).

Yeah that's what the discount is in a monetary value vs the percentage. Lister posted both.

Do you own a 38/39" ultrawide? I always hear people highlighting the lower DPI but is it reallllyyy that noticeable? Seeing as some 45" ultrawide still use 3440x1440, I figure it might be palatable.

The DPI probably isn't an issue for most people. I have the alienware 3821 (IPS), had the 39" version of this LG monitor (oled) from costco for a bit, and didn't care much about the DPI for productivity or gaming. It was more the oled panel messing w/ my eyes for productivity/text work that made me return the LG oled. I actually found the aggressive curve really nice for keeping the whole screen within my field of view w/o turning my head too much. It felt like I could really use 100% of the screen as opposed to the alienware, where I really only focused on the middle 50% of the screen most of the time. 45" might be too blurry for oled, even on top of its inherent text clarity issue. I'd be willing to try IPS though.

Reviews seem to mostly only complain about the dpi on 45inch models. I went for the 39 inch Asus because I'd prefer larger screen for the similar price. The extra KVM feature is cool too.

I saw yesterday that there's a new LG 45GX990A ultrawide that's coming out. 45 inches and 5,120 x 2,160. It's bendable too. Goes from flat to 900R. THAT would be an endgame monitor. But I think I may try the 39" in the meantime. I'll return it if its not that great, but it can hold me over until the 45 inch releases and goes on sale.

FYI the White is available for $735, throw it on a monitor arm, none the wiser.

I own the 38" Samsung. No complaints from me on DPI. It basically the same as a 27" 1440p monitor with extra inches and pixels on the sides.
