The child bitter flavor coating is great for keeping kids from eating these batteries but they didn't work on Apple Air Tags where the coating interfered with powering the airtag. Had to switch to non-Duracell batteries.
As good as the deal is, I HATE Amazon for mixing seller products into the same bin. I can't tell if I'm getting real batteries or counterfit batters. Rather pay the extra $1 to get from Costco (12 pack for $13) and know I'm getting real batteries.

Rubbing alcohol will take it off.
Thanks!

Saying that why would anyone want stock these? They are so tiny and easily loosable. There is not much price difference between the 5 pack and higher quantity packs.

I too once had to resort to fine-grit sandpaper to get through the coating, but I just opened a pack with the new "compatible with Apple AirTag" blaze on the top right packaging corner and they powered up an AirTag without any cleaning or sanding. I'd guess Duracell changed the coating coverage to avoid the rim where the pins make contact.

This info may be outdated. If you look closely at the packaging, it says "works with Apple AirTags".

It works for me and replaced like 3 already. I just hate opening this package though.

I know that there are mixed opinions on this but I still had trouble using these with certain devices due to the child bitter flavor. This was the case on two different packages, purchased from Costco months apart, that both had the works with airtag logo on them. I tried lots of rubbing with alcohol but still no luck. It seems due to the location of the coating around the outer rim.

I went with the costco ones. Thanks for sharing!

Wish Amazon would fix this. I'm changing them a lot so been thinking the SONYs I got are weak and most likely fake.
