Best non combative "or not Apple" reply I've seen on Slickdeals.

is this really the same though?
I'm a Mac novice, so this is genuine question. Won't things by default want to install and use the internal storage?

I have my music and photo library on an external for my iMac - it super simple to point it there vs in internal drive
With that said I still have used 350 of my 512 gb internal so I think 256 is too small
+1 to that. Nice to see
$699 edu priced 24g/256gb model and I spent $130 for 1TB storage card.
I've been using the Mini with 16gb ram and 500 gb drive for 1.5 months. I couldn't justify $200 for just 8 gb of ram. So far it has performed fine in light games and design work. I think the ram over storage argument is overrated. I have plenty of external storage drives but I don't like to run them all the time because of extra power and heat generated.
I plan on using the M4 mini for about 3 years until the next upgrade because tech ages really fast. There really is no need to max out a computer when next year's base model will match the performance at a fraction of the cost.
I also want to note that the M4 chips are CRAZY energy efficient. With constantly increasing energy prices, it will make a difference in your electric bill. Never going back to Intel power suckers again!
