Item Q&As indicate this is good for renewals within last 6 months of your existing subscription.
Thank you, I've been buying these every year and using a calendar reminder to apply them once I'm within 6 months remaining. Just realized that I must have missed a deal recently as last one in my Newegg history is from 2023 and I now have 3 months of subscription left.

I don't know exactly, but I'm pretty sure I've kept one for at least half a year before I applied it. It's possible they don't expire at all.

Maybe this is different, but I was under the impression that these no longer worked to extend an existing subscription. The folks at Quicken closed that backdoor loophole and all subs are supposed to be new going forward. The one I purchased will not allow me to extend existing sub. I have to start new.

There are different "for New Subscribers only" items sold by Newegg, for example: https://www.newegg.com/quicken-cl...6832624024 - those are what they clearly say they are. This deal is for "1 year worth of subscription" and it wouldn't make sense that they can't be used by someone who already owns Quicken. How else would one use this key card?

Has anyone tried to renew with this deal?

I know it has been harder lately to find discounts that are not "new user only" but I found reddit posts from 2 months ago still claiming success extending their subs with these activation keys (that do not advertise restriction to new users).

i don't think reddit links are forbidden, will remove if so:

edit: the previous deal post has report(s) of success from early February.

For anyone considering the Business version I have found Deluxe handles all I need and the features in the Business version were not really needed, necessary or that useful. Business income, expenses and tax a can all be done in Deluxe

You calendar reminder is great tip and if I would have done such I could have headed off a DUH moment.

I had bought a boxed version back in April of last year to extend my subscription that was expiring a few months later. Completely forgot about it and jumped in one of the deals and bought another and plugged that in. Bit of shock to find the box when doing some organizing of my workspace.

Did have interesting thing with that as I gave it to my son but when he tried to activate he got key expired message. I sent him my receipt from April and am sure they will activate of he calls but if you do buty a box or key for future use keep a copy of the receipt just in case.

The ones specifically marked "new users" will no longer extend subscriptions, they did that right around the time they started offering really good sales on those ones to entice new users in. You'd have to create a new account when your sub expires to use one of those. But these physical key cards that don't say 'new user" are fine for renewals.

It is Vanguard who is making changes and your problems. I don't know if the institution is garbage but it is not unheard for financial institutions to make changes to back end stuff once in a while. From what I see it only stated abou ten days ago and hopefully will be working again shortly.

Why would you not Google that before reviewing Quicken like it did something wrong? If you use Quicken you may run into this kind of stuff once and while. With that being said I have managed to keep 20 plus years of data in good order fairly easily wit a hiccup on occasion but never anything catastrophic. If something does not download this week it can be downloaded when they get it back up and running
https://community.quicken.com/dis...y-protocol

I have had similar intermittent problems with various financial institutions over the years but they get worked out when Quicken catches up. Do keep in mind that some financial institutions are kind of greedy and will make you pay for the ability to download or may not even have a system that makes downloading available through Quicken. I try to make sure they do before I would sign up with them.
