looks like costco is maybe having some fallout from its politics. seen a lot more than usual of costco membership deals lately. Personally, this is my last year with them. how they do their cash back for executive members really pissed me off. And, the stock varying wildly from store to store is super annoying. 6 stores within 2 hour drive and none of them have all the "always stocked" items I buy regularly. 2/10 cannot recommend. Maybe if you live really close and can always get gas there.

dm me if you want more info.

Did you mean to say "policies"?

Did something change with the executive cash back? They send you a Costco "cash certificate" that you can redeem in store. It's been like this since... Decades if I recall correctly.

Forgot to include the Costco screenshot, see above.

$50 Digital Costco Shop Card when you sign up for an Executive Membership or $30 Digital Costco Shop Card when you sign up for a Gold Star Membership!

Many have reported signing up as 'new' members.

You know you get immediate store inventory by using the search warehouse inventory in the warehouse tools feature on the app, right?

I'm wondering if this is structured differently than the Groupon etc deals in regards to waiting 18 months since membership expired

I'm no Costco bootlicker but honestly sign up for a executive membership with a family member and split it. The extra 2% back easily pays for the membership each year. I don't like the costco cash they give you, but buy a pack of bananas with it, and take the rest of the cash to the bank. The citi card you can direct deposit if it is above $300 or they won't hassle you getting cash for that up front.

Damn I just signed up for sip club for 3 months @ 5.99 a month. Anyone any idea if you should cancel now to be able to apply the T-Mobile deal?

costco has membership deals all the time, and this isn't even a particularly good one, AND it's only open to t-mobile subscribers.

---

if you want to talk about "fallout" from "politics", and want to use actual data rather than anecdotes: since announcing they would turn their backs on their diversity initiatives in january:

target stock year to date: down 16.11%

compared to costco, whose shareholders, also in january, rejected a proposal that urged they do the same kind of thing:

costco stock year to date: up 13.26%

just use a different email and phone number for a new account if it doesn't work after cancelling and/or you're worried it won't work. the phone number isn't used for any communication, any way. just don't use something too common in case someone else has already used that phone number.

Not even true if you look at their quarterly earnings. They are definitely the best retail stock. Customers love them, investors love them, and their employees love them.
