Note: these are NOT the remastered versions that came out in 2021. That said, while the FOTR does have the green tint throughout (which has been there since the original blu-ray release in 2014), there are many that prefer the non-remastered versions of the films.

edit: I haven't confirmed this 100%, but from what I can tell supposedly the theatrical of the fellowship does not have the green tint issue like the extended versions do.

I'd guess that's like asking "Do you like the remastered Star Wars IV/V/VI"? No, we want the original without all the effects and remastering! The original films still exists to do a true 4K master... Lucas will never budge. Maybe Disney might for a good cash grab after Lucas is gone? Who knows.

While the effects and sound haven't been touched, Jackson drastically redid the color corrections in some scenes.

Fellowship is 100x better (because the green hue is gone)

The main concern that people have realized is that the 4k conversion was supposedly an upscale from the extended blu-rays and not based on the original film.

I'm going to go back and edit my comment, but supposedly the theatrical of the fellowship does not have the green tint issue. I added a photo to that previous comment.

This is enough…..the extended theatrical version is too……much…if you are a die hard fan go for it but for regular people…this is great!

Peter Jackson calls the theatrical cut his director's cut - everything else in the extended editions is purely for fans of the series.
