Hobotech review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NBfhABwn18

Up to 400 Watts ( 12 to 60 volts) of solar input.
Requires the add-on battery to run the portable A/C cooling
1000Wh of battery. About 2 hrs on max cooling at about 450 Watts power.
Eco mode cooling uses about 200 Watts of power.

In a lot of the pictures, they run this a/c unit outside?

It's also a heater. So they are allegedly running it to heat up a cold tent.

I want to get this for my son's room since he is always hot. HOA does not allow for window units and the free standing ones are way too big for his small room. If this is $500 w/ the battery, I would consider it.

you can skip the battery and get the unit for $399, and just plug it into the wall. it doesn't require a battery to function.

the marketing photos are deceptive, as most of them don't show use with any ducting, and without the exhaust ducting hooked up, this thing is going to work little better than a fan.

zero breeze only 2300 btu vs. 5100 (cooling) and 6100 (heating) on ecoflow. or did you mean mark 3

based on my understanding of thermodynamics there must be some window access in order to cool a room

You would want to vent out the window as well as have the intake from outside under most use cases. For my use case, I would exhaust the hot air outside and intake would be from the hall (not the room) for max cooling/efficiency.

Both intake and exhaust hoses are provided OOTB.

Do you mean the intake and exhaust hoses don't come with this deal and have to be purchased separately?
