I would like to add that I've had many issues with this exact model and I returned my previous one due to those issues.

I had to return my previous ones due to having graphics software / driver issues + a faulty trackpad + bad fan. The laptop would lag once plugged into an external monitor and struggle even opening up YouTube. A windows reset + driver reinstallation did not help at all. I'm just hoping that this second attempt will be different.

Otherwise, it was a beauty of a machine. Okay ish trackpad that does require a bit more force to use, and a really good keyboard. A real nice OLED display and speakers which sounds really nice if you are using the laptop on a desk (downward facing). It was easily one of my favorite devices in display at Best Buy, and for the price it's laughable how much better it is than all of the other laptops. This laptop is definitely not budget, it's semi-premium. 80 percent as good as the equivalent zenbook for 40 percent of the cost.

I would cautious against getting an open box imo. It's not worth it considering just how bad of a quality control issues I have had with ASUS.

1920x1200 will this be a weird (black bar) resolution for media consumption? Or course not primary use of a laptop today but a consideration.

Bought an 'excellent' and 'very good' open box. Hoping the first will be a keeper so I can cancel the 2nd. Otherwise BBY is shady on returns as they don't refund the $4 CA state recycling fee!

Yep with the lunar lake. Same exact model I got 3 weeks ago for 550 but then returned.

The battery in these things are no joke either. I took pictures on my phone of where my windows battery estimate said I had 1 days and 8 hours of battery left. That's probably a little bit of an overestimate, but 20 hours actually seemed plausible. I also noticed I would deplete battery at 3-5 percent per hour with full brightness studying using chrome. It was nuts.

Very minimal. My My previous laptop was a surface laptop 2 with a 4:3 and that had huge black bars

You have asked this question like 3 times now. Didn't the last time you found out that it doesn't do well on igpu already?
