Seems like a decent price after coupon: ALLSOFIRN. Shipping is free over $29. Was looking for a filler for free shipping to get the $10 and $13 lights shipped so why not buy a $60 light for the truck? LOL
Alternatively $70 on Amazon after coupon.
Curious to hear the feedback on this light from the Flashlight Connoisseurs of SD!

I have the sp as my flood. Should I have gone with the q8+ / pro instead? At the time I wasn't sure if the price premium justified the difference in performance (based on comparo vids).

Sp36 is easier to carry on longer hikes. Otherwise, in terms of brightness, flood area, and duration, the soda can wins the contest. Both are very good lights and if you have either, not sure if the IF30 would be needed. Of course, that shouldn't ever stop you from buying something 😉
Initially I thought it had only low, turbo, and strobe settings which seemed horrible. It actually has a full range of brightness settings as follows.
CHANGE BRIGHTNESS LEVEL: When the flashlight is on, rotate clockwise to ramp up, and the light flashes once when the brightness reaches its maximum. Rotate counterclockwise to ramp down. Long press the switch to cycle through: Floodlight (30lm-12000lm)→Spotlight (10lm-2500lm)→Spotlight & Floodlight (40lm-12000lm).
If I was going to get a second light it would have to have a huge spotlight only distance, so this one isn't for me, but it seems decent for the price. I'm still happy with my ancient 2000lm Sofirn C8G which for me is the absolute perfect light. Perfect color temp, very good spotlight distance, continuously adjustable brightness, compact, inexpensive, long run time.

Thank you! Very nice review of the torch. I'm out though, ruined by my other high CRI 4000K torches.
"The emitters appear to have been chosen to maximum the beam distance and lumens. It would be nice if some high CRI Nichia 519A emitters with a nice tint are used instead of these cool white TN-3535 emitters. The low CRI 6500K Luminus SFT40 emitter could be swapped out for a high CRI 3000K Luminus SFT40. The beam distance and lumen output might decrease with these other emitters but I think that the beam would look nicer."
I have several flashlights from Sofirn. This is my favorite in terms of lighting adjustment options. Wide/Narrow/Bright/Dim.
I really don't like the rotating knob on the flashlight. It is very uncomfortable and difficult if you are constantly making changes. If my hands are a little dusty or moist then I often can't even get enough grip on it. Forgot about using it with a glove on.
Q8+ is $75 with the coupon. 16000 lumens. Maybe I need both? Hmmmm
I got the Q8+ last year through one of those Sofirn TikTok store deals. That light is wonderfully obscene. I use it more as a work light fired up at the ceiling. It can basically create daylight in a room at the push of a button.
I have been hoping it would get back to $50-$60 on sale so I could grab a couple as gifts for some friends. With the endless unproductive trade wars ramping up and down I'd happily just snag one at $70.

Already have the Q8+ and SP36. Otherwise, worth a shot for a combo spot/flood.

Why pay $10 more?
