Incredibly tempting!

What terrible thing will occur if I book.... The first time I booked a trip to Japan, the Tohoku quake happened a handful of days prior to my departure. The second time I booked a trip to Japan, the Covid shutdown happened while I was gone.

Third trip booking.... Giant meteor?

Do you miss the homeless people and people shooting up in your driveway? I lived in Portland for 40 years, moved, and never looked back.

I do miss the nice roads though, nature mountains, beaches/bitches.

Can stand on a step stool here and can see the whole state, it's sad. I would stay in MI though but I don't

I just double checked my map, Oregon is in fact quite a bit more than just Portland.

Also the new airport is lovely, glad to see flights options picking up. May jump on this one.

The nature is nice, I miss hiking and biking and being like two hours from the coast. I don't miss the people or traffic though.

It's also Salem, Eugene, Corvallis, and Bend, which are just as crunchy or on their way to being so.

I was there in August and the airport revamp was like three days from opening. I'll be back there in April or May so I guess I'll get to see it.

Seen someone doing drugs publicly once in my 6 years so far here. Its like when people said the city was on fire and the riots were happening, not once saw them.

I'll be visiting Portland around the departure times. I might squeeze in a Japan trip. The Airport is the nicest I have seen on the west coast. The no sales tax is awesome when I shop too.

I worked in the US Bank tower and the KOIN tower at various times, seeing someone doing drugs on my walk from the train to work was as common as seeing a Starbucks. As for the riots, I didn't spend much time there during that time, but I did visit towards the end of that whole time and I have plenty of pictures of smashed windows, boarded up windows, etc., but I took those during the day since I didn't want to go participate or anything.

Do you ever leave your house? I literally just got back from Cane's and saw a lovely married couple doing crack outside the mall. It's like a daily occurrence and I only go out to eat.

Typing from Corvallis right now. Pretty sleepy little town. There's the dude that skateboards around downtown playing his keytar and the occasional noisy homeless person, but all in all this is a pretty mellow place.

Now if you want to gripe about how #*%#&$# expensive it is to live here I can commiserate.
