Simulated Sine Wave Output: Uses pulse wave modulation to generate a stepped, approximated sine wave to supply cost-effective battery backup power for equipment that does not require sine wave output.

This is actually an upgrade from cheaper UPS units that DGAF and just flip the volts 120 times a second. Its not as good as 'pure sine' but if youre not driving an AC motor with it then its going to perform the same way.

Yes for an afternoon this would keep you online as long as your ISP keeps data going over local cable.

That's what I use one of mine for. It's so nice when the power blips and you don't have to wait for the router and/or modem to reboot.

Yes, it should run a home router for hours if that's all that's on the battery. A cable modem or the like would be fine too.

I work from home and we get a surprising amount of power disruptions. One day the power was out for hours and I was able to keep the internet rolling the whole time with the 1500va version of this.
