I could see 20 yrs ago even 10 yrs ago someone wanting this. If you do a quick search you can get a wireless camera fairly cheap these days that you can look at on your phone some even record. The time and hassle to install this is about the same of a real camera . I get that 6$ is cheap but if you care about your stuff enuf that your going to put forth the effort to install a dummy camera spend 20$ more and get a real one.

They make real cameras too, though. I have one of their PoE systems and pretty sure the cameras are branded the same way.
