I had an Xfinity Mobile line back when it first started out, ported out several years ago, and I don't appear to be eligible for this promotion. I get the offer ad, but it doesn't show in my cart.

I logged in and it shows I qualify. When I click add to my account, it takes me to the next screen and shows $40 a month for unlimited. Clicked add to cart and it just raises my normal monthly bill accordingly. Either I don't actually qualify, or I'm missing something.

Yeah who knows. It shows my normal bill for TV and internet which is $174, then I add the "free" line and the bill jumps up exactly $50.

use BYOD and get $10 pm off for 10 months. that will compensate $25 line setup charges and taxes (about $3 pm)

Taxes aren't included, so not totally free.

I got this set up for my mother just a few days ago. She was an XM customer just about a year ago, but had ported out and was using Redpocket which was renewing next week.

I tried to sign up online, but like you, didn't see any mention of the free line/discount on the final pages. So I ditched the cart and stopped by my local XF store and asked about the promo there. They said she was eligible, but she had to sign up for the Mobile line within 90 days of signing up for the Internet service (which was years ago). I said I didn't see that in the terms and went home.

I got home and hit up Xfinity chat support online and after finally getting a person, asked about the promo and gave them her info (I just posed as her). The rep said she was indeed eligible and offered to sign me up on the spot. It took a little while due to RedPocket's annoying port out process (had to call in and have them 'release' her number, even after using the web portal to unlock the port and getting my account number and pin!). But after about an hour or so her esim was activated and number ported instantly and she was up and running.

So chat can do it, the website won't show the discount, and the store is a bunch of idiots as per usual.

I switched from Verizon a little over a year ago. Service has been solid and no regrets getting away from Verizon who had gotten too high for my liking. Got two pixel 8's upgraded that cost me total $20 each a month for the 256 upgrade for two years. Still overall cheaper than Verizon. Once those are paid I'll be saving over $40 month for two lines. Customer service ain't the best, but Verizon was no better. Have not had to call for any reason once lines were up and running. Plus I saved $20 month on my home internet for having two mobile lines. Which of course has been slowly eaten away by their price increases.

Comcast is a scammy company. They will find another way to charge you way more after the promotional period.

Just let me know what you're charged next month. 😅
