Any feedback on this would be appreciated. I have a buddy looking for a smaller laptop and these specs look good for $450.
Computers are not my bailiwick, and this is a pretty good deal, IMO, however, for me, it should have a bigger/better battery, which can be had on SD at this same price-point.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a 14" 300-nits 100% sRGB display at this price point.
The processor is not that old and plenty powerful for daily use, productivity, browsing, media consumption and integrated GPU can do some very low gaming.

It seems very difficult to find smaller displays with anything better than an i3 and 8gb ram. I have never been an Acer fan in my years as a computer tech but this seems to be the best deal on specs alone. Only thing holding it back is those huge bezels make it about the same size as a 15", which defeats some of the purpose.
The specs are fine for the price, but not sure about build quality. I purchased a 14" when the line was originally released, and it was about the quality of a PLA printed chassis (creaky and rough edged), and the fan was so loud (measured it at 95 decibels). It went back to Costco.

Wasn't the Asus Vivobook S 14 with the latest Intel processor, an OLED screen, and half the storage this price not long ago? It goes on sale off and on. Might be something to look out for instead if you're on the fence about this.

Exactly, and I bought it. Super battery life, facial recognition works nicely (so far), display, to me, is outstanding, but, as others mentioned, Lord, the unit is a fingerprint magnet, smudges all over the case. Do not want my $ back.
