For those who only want cash, not points:

$1000 cash back less:
- $95 annual fee
- $50-100 opportunity cost for spending $5000 on a card that only gives 1%cb when you could have gotten 2-3%cb.

Still over $800 tax-free profit. Not bad at all.

Considering it. I have one more application before I hit chase 5/24, then wait for a boosted amex gold or platinum bonus.

Any 0% apr period on this?

Will they treat a tax payment at pay1040 as a cash advance? Most credit card vendors treat it as a purchase.
The offer is supposed to be available online starting 04/03.
Not only is it in OP's message, it's also in the subject. Good grief.

If it has been 48 months since you received the sign up bonus (note: not the same as your application/approval date), then you should be eligible.
How about if I still have Sapphire reserve from 5-6 years ago? Can I still get this Preferred and 100k bonus or do I need to downgrade the Reserve first?

Is basic Sapphire (not Preferred) still offered by Chase? As I understand - it didnt use to have any annual fees, so thats probably better for me.
It's available through product change, get this one, convert it to the basic sapphire when AF is due next year
Why do you need it? It's the most useless card IMO

Thank you! After converting to Freedom, waiting for 1 week is enough ? Or need to wait for long ?
IDK, check the recent data points, I don't have up-to-date information. I thought 3 days was ok, but I might be mistaken

You can't refer yourself and you can only refer from a Sapphire card.
Correction: you can refer yourself but you have to stand in front of a mirror when you do it.

besides adding total spent and calculating the days, is there a way to track the bonus? When googled it shows there is supposed to be a section in the Chase Mobile App but I'm not seeing it in my app.

The tracker can be a few days or weeks late to appear. There are reports of it not appearing at all but owner received the SUB regardless.

I just opened mine and it was around 22%

Having said that, if you're caring at all about APR, shouldn't really be signing up for another credit card.

Mainly for 0 FTC during my 2-3 foreign travels in a year. I'll probably keep my Freedom card for points accumulation in US.

1. What's the play action if I already have the CSP card, been over 48 months since last sign up bonus and under 5/24. I'm at 2/24.

2. My P2 has the CSR, 48mo since last sign up bonus and 0/24. Is my P2 eligible for SUB?

I don't understand that this "doesn't count towards 5/24." Does that mean you can get this if you're over the 5/24? Also, any way to easily check what your count is in the last 24?

How much is it? Only 10K?

Historically, in the beginning, the referral offer is less than the promotional offer, and for 10K IDK if it's worth risking by applying and asking for a match. But maybe worth waiting a month

1. Downgrade CSP to Freedom - I'd wait at least a week to play it safe but unsure if there are data points as to exactly how long to wait.

2. CSR and CSP share their SUB eligibility, so essentially the same as your situation. Ideally get yours and then refer your P2.
