For those who only want cash, not points:

$1000 cash back less:
- $95 annual fee
- $50-100 opportunity cost for spending $5000 on a card that only gives 1%cb when you could have gotten 2-3%cb.

Still over $800 tax-free profit. Not bad at all.

Considering it. I have one more application before I hit chase 5/24, then wait for a boosted amex gold or platinum bonus.

Any 0% apr period on this?

Will they treat a tax payment at pay1040 as a cash advance? Most credit card vendors treat it as a purchase.
The offer is supposed to be available online starting 04/03.
Not only is it in OP's message, it's also in the subject. Good grief.

I currently have a CSR and want to keep it. If I cancel/downgrade and apply for the CSP, is there a way to take that to a CSR with an upgrade or something after I get the bonus/CSP?

In-Branch offer only, you can get the 100k Sign-Up bonus.

They don't know how long they are running the promotion, but went in yesterday to get the card and can confirm this morning that it is 100k SUB.

(Not a referral link, store locator to find closest Chase branch)

In my head, I accidentally reversed the 's' and 'r' in your name, which is awesome.

If that comment doesn't get me reps, nothing ever will.

I dont think you can get bonus for CSP if u got it for CSR already if I remember correctly. It's like 48 months period from the last bonus

@fbueller You can only have one Sapphire product at any given time. You will have to downgrade your existing sapphire card to a freedom or another product, wait a week and then apply for the CSP. Afterwards, you can request to upgrade the CSP to a CSR. Not sure if they review anything to upgrade.

It's from when you opened it, which in my case was well over 48 months. I can cancel, wait 7 days, reapply for CSP. But I want CSR again for my 200k+ existing points.

Got denied Frown.

About a year ago, Lowe's changed the Lowe's charge card system.

Even though I didn't apply for new credit, the switch counted as one in the 5/24.

Fortunately, my wife hasn't hit 5/24, so just have to get her to apply.
Dang that's harsh

I'd call reconsideration and ask for a supervisor or something

Just got shut down due to having active Reserve card.
Downgrade it to a Freedom with Rewards (aka OG Visa Freedom) or Freedom Unlimited

Get this CSP sub (assuming it's been over 48 months since you got the CSR bonus)

Wait a year then request upgrade CSP to CSR, or keep CSP

One year without CSR for 100k points

No it's 48 months from when you got the bonus, not from when you opened the card. There's potentially a 3-months difference between the two time periods. Or I suppose even a 6-months difference if you opted for "spend in 6 months" alternate offer they...offer.

Fair point, but I got the CSR when it first came out so I'm wellllll past 48 months.

Still curious how to maintain a CSR but downgrading and getting the CSP, then maybe somehow upgrading that back to the CSR?

I have Chase Sapphire Preferred, Reserve, and Freedom. I assume I cannot take advantage of this deal, but I figured I would check. I got my most recent card (CSR) over five years ago.

You lie like a rug. Chase doesn't allow having both CSR and CSP at the same time.

Would an adult kid with part time retail job qualify for this card as his first credit card? Thanks.

It was possible in the past, the "chase double dip" was a very popular churning technique.
