$1000 cash back less:
- $95 annual fee
- $50-100 opportunity cost for spending $5000 on a card that only gives 1%cb when you could have gotten 2-3%cb.
Still over $800 tax-free profit. Not bad at all.
Considering it. I have one more application before I hit chase 5/24, then wait for a boosted amex gold or platinum bonus.
Any 0% apr period on this?
Will they treat a tax payment at pay1040 as a cash advance? Most credit card vendors treat it as a purchase.
The offer is supposed to be available online starting 04/03.
Nope- you can only have 1 sapphire (of any type) open at once, and can't get a sapphire bonus at all if you received one in the last 48 months.
Current referral links are still only offering 60k--- rumors on reddit that 100k referrals for individuals will be live next week (8th was what I read)

We need to create a pay your taxes with credit card next January so people have time to apply for the card they charge 2% but for the rewards it could certainly work out !
What's the easiest way to find out how long it's been since you got this bonus? I don't want a hard credit hit to find out.
Check the date you got the card itself. You can see that on one of your credit reports. (Experian app is free to use and shows all your card dates.)
Then calculate 3 months from when you got the card. 6 months to be extra safe, in case you had taken the higher offer they sometimes give for higher spend in 6 months instead of 3.
Does the Amazon $200 Gift Card bonus you receive for opening the Amazon Prime Chase Visa count as a 'bonus' towards the 4 year rule? Or is that an Amazon vs Chase offer?

No. 4 year rule is only for previous bonuses on Sapphire cards.

Thanks for the recommendation. Looks like I'm at about 44 months. Damn.

There's a Fidelity CC with Elan Financial that offers 2% if you have a Fidelity brokerage account which costs nothing to open.
I applied yesterday and it says they have to review and will send me a letter with their decision. My credit score is spotless and everything else should be fine, don't understand why they have to do these shenanigans.
I still haven't finished using all my 90k from 2 years ago. I'm down to like 12k points.
I was able to stay at multiple hyatt properties; one was even as low as 3500 off peak. And surprisingly, not bad. I'd stay there again.
Yes you can. However, the referral shows that it's 60K points, you'll need to secure message chase and ask them to match the current offer.
This is annoying me because I need my P2 to apply today, we have a hotel payment coming up in like ten days and need the card next week. I've been reading that the referral links don't always get the elevated bonus offer. So if I risk the 60k referral now in hopes of changing it, if they don't then that would suck.
