$1000 cash back less:
- $95 annual fee
- $50-100 opportunity cost for spending $5000 on a card that only gives 1%cb when you could have gotten 2-3%cb.
Still over $800 tax-free profit. Not bad at all.
Considering it. I have one more application before I hit chase 5/24, then wait for a boosted amex gold or platinum bonus.
Any 0% apr period on this?
Will they treat a tax payment at pay1040 as a cash advance? Most credit card vendors treat it as a purchase.
The offer is supposed to be available online starting 04/03.
Nope- you can only have 1 sapphire (of any type) open at once, and can't get a sapphire bonus at all if you received one in the last 48 months.
Current referral links are still only offering 60k--- rumors on reddit that 100k referrals for individuals will be live next week (8th was what I read)

Check the date you got the card itself. You can see that on one of your credit reports. (Experian app is free to use and shows all your card dates.)
Then calculate 3 months from when you got the card. 6 months to be extra safe, in case you had taken the higher offer they sometimes give for higher spend in 6 months instead of 3.
Good advice. Also consider that it can take a month or two after meeting the minimum spend for the SUB to post.
Same issue here. With the referral link, it gives me 60k points.
someone mentioned 4/8 is the referral link update to 100k. until then i'm goign to keep trying the link until it updates. My gf has the sapphire so she'll refer me
How much dollars is 100000 points when you want to credit it back to the card?
It's 1 center per point or $1000 in total. I vaguely recall periodic bonus offers on certain spend categories, but I could be confusing that with another point program.
I downgraded my CSR last evening and it showed the change in less than 30 mins in online banking. I even got notified of my card being downgraded by door dash and they cancelled my dash pass. I'm guessing I'm safe to apply for the CSP in the morning?
I applied yesterday and it says they have to review and will send me a letter with their decision. My credit score is spotless and everything else should be fine, don't understand why they have to do these shenanigans.
I applied for it yesterday and got the same message, I called them this morning, they verified all the information on the app and asked me if you want to transfer some credits from other Chase card, I agreed and they approved my Sapphire application 🙂
CSP regular cash back is 1%
Credit card processing fee 1.75%
So cost is 0.75% of $5000 —> $37.50 x 99% = $37.125
I agree if you consider that 1 chase point = 1 cent. that's true or close to true if you do redemptions in cash. however, if you do redemptions by transfering points to airlines for award travel, you may get 1.5 cents per point or even higher.

Sapphire has better travel partners to use points. Venture is so-so.
What I like about CAP1 Venture - refund for global entry $120.
