$1000 cash back less:
- $95 annual fee
- $50-100 opportunity cost for spending $5000 on a card that only gives 1%cb when you could have gotten 2-3%cb.
Still over $800 tax-free profit. Not bad at all.
Considering it. I have one more application before I hit chase 5/24, then wait for a boosted amex gold or platinum bonus.
Any 0% apr period on this?
Will they treat a tax payment at pay1040 as a cash advance? Most credit card vendors treat it as a purchase.
The offer is supposed to be available online starting 04/03.
Nope- you can only have 1 sapphire (of any type) open at once, and can't get a sapphire bonus at all if you received one in the last 48 months.

Chase is freakin ridiculous, I applied April 3 and wont get my card until April 15. Are they going to give me two weeks extra to spend the $5k? I've never had a new credit card take more than like 4 days
Try applying to a Capital One card. Takes 2 weeks lol.
And yes you can call chase for an extension. No need to panic.
Applied and got instant approval. Would like to start using it ASAP to make sure I easily reach the spending limit and so that I stop accruing the points on the card its replacing. It says you can start using immediately with Google pay but I see no way to do that. I do not have a Chase account and when you try to sign up for one it wants the card number and/or the application number, neither of which I have and its not in the email confirmation. Yes they are expediting shipping but its the weekend and I live in a very rural area and expected even expedited shipping will take a few days.
insane, received my letter.. no card inside, when i open it, i get a notice about denial due to suspected fraud.. I call the fraud number it instructs to call which i call and it ask me if the filing was legit, which i press 1 to say yes and recording proceeds to tell me current status is "In Progress" and they will send me a notice withing 10 days.. common.. i literally signed onto my acct when i applied and they deemed it fraud.. Don't even know if if the application is really in process since the letter noted denial.

The good thing is Chase denial is usually not final and applications can be resuscitated
Is there any way to find out when my wife got her last sign up bonus? I think it was May 2021, but not sure of the exact date, which matters here. And what happens if she applies and does not qualify for the sign up bonus yet?

--(Best way)---Log on to Chase.Com and see how far back you can find her statements. Inspect her statement to see when the prior Bonus hit.
(first go to PROFILE / SHOW or HIDE ACCOUNTS and "show" it. then go to STATEMENTS....then go within that account and go to 'Statements'...mine go back 5+ years)
or
---Go to ANNUALCREDITREPORT.COM and pull her credit and see when she got the card (and estimate when she would have gotten the bonus).
My understanding is that Chase will DENY the application if you are within that 48 month window from achieving the prior Sapphire bonus.

If she got the card in May 2021-----not eligible in May 2025
If she got the prior bonus from the prior card in May 2021, -- then eligible sometime in May 2025

I think she should be okay given that I got a mailer for the 100K with an expiration date of 5/19.

Not eligible yet, but sometime in May, right?
