Indeed. Such a shame.

Memory: 8GB Soldered LPDDR5-6400
Memory Slots: Memory soldered to systemboard, no slots, dual-channel
Max Memory: 8GB soldered memory, not upgradable

Kind of insane that an "HS" Hawk Point 6-core would be paired with 8 GB. These are pretty decent specs otherwise. Might be worth it if you put Linux on it and cope. Treat it like a big tablet/Chromebook.

Ugg... Got pretty excited until I found out about the RAM. The onboard 760m is a pretty decent iGPU too. Back to waiting for the Dell 14 2-in-1 to go back on sale. Want a small light gaming PC anyway.

While I don't like the 8GB only feature of the deal, the idea that people here are totally unfamiliar with "thin and light" and the fact that none of those types of laptops have user upgrade-able (fat body) ram. Weird. So, yes, 8GB only config.. .oof... but soldered ram, normal.

I've had a couple Yogas. This is a relatively new thing for them.

I wouldn't really consider a almost 5 lb .75 inch thick laptop a "thin and light" where you should just assume it is soldered. My Lenovo Legion Pro 5 gaming laptop isn't much heavier or thicker and has a dedicated GPU, nevermind the ram being repalceable.

Darn... put me in the "almost bought until I saw the soldered ram" category. Otherwise, this would have been an easy buy from my needs (and was actually in stock nearby)

I have purchased it a few weeks ago. In general, I like it given the price I paid.
It was a big surprise for me to discover I had even less than 8GB system RAM: I had only ~6GB. After some checking, looks like the integrated GPU MUST use system RAM. And I didn't find a way to assign less memory to GPU (I did try a few things like Bios settings and so on)...
I didn't try running heavy tasks yet so I do not know how much running out of 6GB RAM will affect the performance.

IGPU always shares system memory. It's not a dGPU with vram...
