Looking for a new family room TV. Mostly for kids shows on Netflix and news.

Pull the trigger?

or is there a better brand/deal for 65"? Maybe one from costco with the longer warranty?

It's not gonna get that much better than this at this price point. Basically a wait until Black Friday otherwise I would get this.

I have the 2022 model 55 inch Toshiba m550 and I can confirm that it is a VA panel. Picture is a beaute! Sound is amazing...I think the 2025 model sound will be adequate but not the same as older version. I cannot say that the quality of the newer 2025 model is any better. Hopefully the 2025 has just as good deeper blacks as the previous 2022 model. The bezel-less design was a plus. 2022 model is great for gaming! Maybe wait for some more current reviews and buy later this year. Here are a couple of recommended reviews: https://youtu.be/OrufPyypxQc?si=-goTaa5rfmavkYVs

Always use the ratings website to evaluate TVs, so when they don't review one I'm kind of lost.

I'm in the market for a TV to place in an outdoor covered Cabana. It would have to get somewhat bright to handle glare and what not outside. Anybody know anything about this TV and whether it would be a good fit?

I stopped by Sams yesterday to look at the Philips 65 OLED vs something QLED next to each other. The QLED seemed more crisp... it was showing more nature shots, while Philips had a lot of yellow/orange things.. Isn't it supposed to be that OLED is much superior?

This Toshiba or Hisense for $339 at Costco?
Toshiba has one extra hdmi, one extra usb, full array dimming and 40w speakers. Hisense has 10w speakers.

I would recommend this TV outdoors as long as you have it protected by a tv cover like any other tv like a Storm Shell when not in use outdoors. I have another older 1080p Toshiba tv 55 inch (about 10 years old built like a tank) outdoors and looks amazing. I also have it under a backyard patio awning with a Storm Shell cover protector with another tv cover protector. Just keep in mind that Toshiba in recent years sold rights to Hisense, not the same quality with the exception of the 2022 model m550. The 2025 model is kind of a gamble since it just released and no reviews are out just yet. It's a gamble to say if the tv will hold up 3 years from now. But tv's are so cheap these days compared to 15 years ago that it may be worth the purchase with the Toshiba brand reliability in my experience. At this price, it may be worth the roll. I have the 2022 version of this same tv and definitely have no regrets...check out reviews of the 2022 version Toshiba m550 on YouTube. I share the same accolades as these YouTube reviews. There are several links I posted on a prior comment above with another member.

Thanks, ordered this TV. I was debating between this and the TCL Q681 series tv that has same full array local dimming, but the picture quality feedback from people who own it is just ok, I'm hoping this toshiba TV has better picture quality, all reviews of M550 series so far is impressive. I also like that this tv has 4k upscaling which is missing in TCL Q6 series.

I was worried about Hisense manufacturing Toshiba TV's since 2017, but glad to hear that their Quality Control department is separate from Hisense, so fingers crossed and hoping for top notch quality from this Japanese TV manufacturer.
