This is a stick stove for cooking and boiling water not for a campfire. The little lever things on the top flip over to hold a pot or tea kettle. It has the 2nd outer chamber so it burns hotter than just a pile of sticks, hot enough to readily boil water for a dehydrated meal like Mountain House. These let you avoid carrying canned butane and just gather sticks and small wood pieces.
Mine, a Canway, is smaller and light enough for a backpack. This is bigger, maybe big enough for a pasta pot, but weighs almost 2 lbs. This one is closed on the bottom where the Canway is open and you have to be careful where you place the Canway. Either is nice since they are closed stoves and often allowed where open campfires are not. They leave only a handful of ash when they are done. Once burning, they make little smoke.
