Personally , I think you should go for it
The lack of heat, better black levels, brightness and better color will thank you

I used to own a Panasonic ST30 years ago
Wow I want this. Too bad my 60" Panasonic ST30, ancient, refuses to even pretend to be dying. I simply can't get rid of it after it's been so kind to me and still looks so good lol

Probably makes sense to pay just a bit more and buy the current model

Oddly enough, rtings gives the S90C higher scores in nearly all categories, but the comparison screen says the S90D is better. I haven't looked super closely at how they formuate their scores, but is it calculated when comparing to other current models? If so, then I guess the S90C was better when compared to other 2023 models, and the S90D isn't as good compared to other 2024 models??

If I even had another room where I could move the ST30, I'd do it in a heart beat.. I just don't. I can't convince myself to get rid of it entirely!

Its probably better to look at their measured specs rather than their numerical ratings

'The Samsung S90D/S90DD OLED is marginally better than the Samsung S90C OLED. The S90D is a bit brighter in HDR, so highlights in HDR content stand out a little bit more, and it has better color volume, so it can display very bright colors a bit better. The S90D also has slightly better processing, so there's less banding in colors, and it does a better job with smoothing out low-quality content.'

This isn't accurate. Rtings.com has changed their metric for the ratings. The S90D is updated and the S90C still has the outdated scores. There's a note on the comparison page stating this in bright orange text.

Having just got the lowest end OLED b4 LG 48 inch I can say that OLED is amazing and it's so nice not having the IPS glow mucking up every dark scene. People should really take the plunge.

Bro! I have a VT 60 that still outdoes most tvs! Now it is semi-retired: bedroom use, but it still is phenomenal. LG C4 is in the living room and is awesome. At this price, take the plunge, the water's fine!

FYI for those comparing to the S90D, I just got my buddy one through a SD for SS EPP and within two months the tv straight up won't power on. Samsung did full refund - apparently common issue with the D model. FWIW I have the C (as does a different friend I got it for through another SS EPP SD, I am addicted to SD) and going on a year or two no issues. Just personal experience (albeit x3)
