I think this is the lowest I've seen the River 2 Pro new plus Costco return policy.

I've used a refurb version of this unit (purchased through ebay) for the last year as a UPS for my modem, router, and mini PC. It's been solid, except for one instance where it inadvertently shut itself down. I'd recommend it. Thumbs up.

So not really suitable as a computer UPS with up to 30ms switch time. I guess I need one with less than 10ms switching time?

I want to stop buying CyberPower pure sine wave UPS's and start using stuff like this if I can.

Is this a super old model? What's up with all the USB-A ports and only one C port?

I bought the same deal + a solar panel for $400-$500 back in February 2024. When the hurricane hit Florida in October I lost power and lived off of this thing and the solar panel for 3 days straight. My neighborhood was flooded and we couldn't leave anywhere and the repair trucks couldn't get in to fix anything. I have a bunch of <800w camping appliances including a small microwave and a Desin cooking pot that I used to get through the days until I could access fresh food and electricity again. Not to mention this thing is just awesome and convenient to have.

River 2 Pro released Apr 2023. Replaced by new model River 3 Plus Max which released Feb 2025. Both has one usb C port in/out 100w and two usb A 18w out. Other differences you can get from their product page.

Use it to supplement power. UPS to computer. This to UPS.
