here are the ranking from bottom to best. TN-VA-IPS-Mini LED- OLED. Once you go OLED is hard to go back.

Some VA panels have issues with color gamut, motion blur, viewing angles, and peak brightness levels.

Samsung NEO panels use a Mini-LED Backlight to boost the peak brightness as high as an eye scorching 2000 nits, while benefitting from the near OLED black levels.

LG has taken to using an Edge Lighting on these panels and really most of their QNED TVs, and much like Sony they've done a very good job at manipulating the contrast curve in real time so you won't always be able to tell it isn't FALD or Mini-LED Backlit.

The color volume on these monitors has been measured between 94% and 96% of DCI-P3 levels which is pretty impressive because it isn't using the Quantum Dot technology.

The response time is on par with most 240 Hz non OLED panels even if the refresh is slightly lower. To be fair, Samsung's 240 Hz Non-NEO models really couldn't use the 240 Hz mode either without having artifacts and screen tearing.

The average brightness of this panel was 400 nits out of the box, where calibrated is generally 200 nits, and the Peak Brightness is 800 nits.

Black levels were measured where most VA panels are, at 0.07 vs OLED 0.00, so probably too dim for you to really see the difference and given that the Peak Brightness is similar the effective Contrast ration should be sufficient.

I couldn't find much on motion blur or smearing at all, so you might want to review that.

There is some glow, because it is edge-lit and not backlit and this causes the screen uniformity to be slightly worse than average.

The PPI of this 32:9 Aspect Ratio Monitor is 118, so it is sharper than most 49" screens.

This is just what I could gather from the reviews online really quick, and despite the few flaws, it is actually very good for the money.

Oh and 32:9 isn't always great for multiplayer gaming as some games don't support it.

Google it buddy
You google it! I'm well aware of what these things can do. You making insane blanket statements about the order of quality is not realistic as these panels have come a long way.

IPS is better for viewing angles (not really relevant for a monitor), and Motion Blur, but way worse with contrast ratios and black levels. These are viable options and not really any worse than most IPS panels, plus they're a lot cheaper than an equivalent sized IPS panel. It simply is a better bang for the buck.

Oh and I'm typing this on a Quantum-Mini-LED Samsung display... Those technologies are just laid over the VA panel.

You said and i quote " mini led is VA " . since its obvious your using AI. Here is you AI response. Hopefully you can read ........No, a VA panel and a Mini LED panel are not the same thing—they refer to different aspects of a display.

VA (Vertical Alignment) Panel: This is a type of LCD panel technology known for its high contrast ratios, decent color accuracy, and better viewing angles than TN panels but not as good as IPS. VA panels are commonly used in gaming monitors and TVs because of their deep blacks.

Mini LED Panel: This refers to the backlighting technology used in LCD displays. Mini LED backlights use thousands of tiny LEDs to improve brightness, contrast, and local dimming, reducing issues like blooming and improving HDR performance. Mini LED can be used with both VA and IPS panels.

So, you can have a VA panel with Mini LED backlighting, but they are not the same thing. One is about how the pixels align (VA), and the other is about how the screen is illuminated (Mini LED).
I'm not using AI... Mini-LED is a variation of the backlighting technology, the Panel is still VA Technology. Their flaws are largely the same when it comes to ghosting and smearing. If the VA Panel is bad the VA panel is bad. Also, viewing angles don't improve and neither will color if it doesn't have a Quantum Dot layer.

You ever think maybe you just don't know what you're talking about and others have already done this research.

Not trying to join this fight. Genuine question. And you seem less biased. Lol. Are all mini-LED panels VA at this point? Or do you have to find a VA panel specifically? Just wondering if mini-LED panels can be HA (if that's even a thing)? Thanks!

That's a good question. I have yet to a see a mini-led that wasn't a VA panel, but I suppose they could exist.
The reason they use the VA panel is the near OLED black levels of that technology.

I've checked out a few places online, but can't seem to find any reviews for this with macs. I've got an M4 mac mini and would love to do some video editing on this. I've heard mixed reviews in the past of some ultrawide's not working with macs. Anyone have experience with this?
