I guess you won't be traveling internationally for a while in that case.
I was in Greece/Athens in February and I didn't experience any hostility whatsoever. Of course there was anti Trump graffiti but I saw nothing anti - American. The Greek economy is very dependent on tourism; if they hate us they're really good at hiding it. I'd love to go back one day.

We've put in a lot of hard work and done so many horrible things to earn that hatred, tyvm.

This is nice because at least LHR is on the way to ATH. It's those out-and-back stopovers that are annoying (Turkish, SAS) because they add a lot of hours and backtracking.

Just make sure you have 2+ hours layover there, LHR is one of the worst airports in the modern world.

Great time to go. The weather is cool and the crowds are small. Sipping your coffee underneath Acropolis with the winter sun warming your body.

Have you ever left the United States and experienced people hating you or are you getting that impression from the lying talking heads on your TV. Even when people (rightfully) hate what the United States government does to them (it doesn't matter which party is in office) they are still kind and friendly to Americans and don't hold it against us.

Some of the kindest people I've met abroad were in Spain last week and the week before. Locals, French, Brazilians, etc. Politeness, respect, and basic human decency are so much bigger than the political headlines.

Plus every tourist dollar Americans spend while overseas is like a tariff-free net export (for the hoselt country) where WE pay the shipping

If you want to go to mainland Greece only, it can be okay though sometimes rainy. If you want to go to islands, which most do, everything will be shut down in the winter. You are better off going shoulder season like May, September, or October.

The rest of the world hates Americans because they wish they were us. Having a quality of life and wealth beyond their wildest dreams. Even the lowliest worker here is in the top 10 percentile of the world's wealth.

As for the "Americans" who hate their own, it is jealousy and envy driving them. I'm driving a Toyota Corolla but Bezos has a Bentley? The horror!!! I'd rather walk than allow Bezos to have that Bentley. No American who works hard, studies, lays off the drugs, alcohol, doesn't gamble, doesn't get pregnant before getting married will be poor. It's a super simple formula.
